Cost - Membership, Skating and other fees:
First two sessions  - "Have a Go" - ARE FREE. 
Not to be used in conjunction with any other specials.
Conditions apply, bookings essential, basic skating ability required.
After the two free sessions, skaters can enrol here.  A membership fee of $60 per skater applies.
For skating sessions, we offer a choice of 3 payment options:
1. Term fee rates: Cost per session of $16 for members, if you pay the whole term in full at the beginning of the term. This fee is calculated each term according to the number of weeks in the term, invoices are issued at the beginning of each term.  There are no refunds for missed sessions; however missed sessions may be made up at another session (does not have to be same week) and sessions missed due to injury may be credited to the next term.
2. Concession cards: 10 sessions for $200.  Valid for 6 months, negotiable depending on circumstances. 
3. Casual rates: Cost per session of $25 for casual skaters, payable per session.
Make up sessions / Credits
A missed session can be made up at the other session.   Applicable to term fee payers.  Skaters paying term fees for both Fridays and Sundays may apply for a limited number of credits per year for missed sessions caused by extenuating circumstances.  See the Club Treasurer for more information.
Club Membership
Skater $60 annually.  Essential for all skaters after the first 2 free sessions.  Includes membership with both Hauraki Ice Racing Club and Ice Speed Skating New Zealand. There is no charge for membership for coaches, officials, and parent volunteers.
Our coaches are Matt Biggs, Gill Taitimu and Zac Biggs. Matt is an Olympian Short Track Skater and has many years of international skating experience. Matt has been coaching for over 12 years and has coached skaters from beginner level up to World Class Level. Gill is skilled in teaching technique and works on strength, fitness and racing strategy. Zac has recently retired from international world class racing , and brings to the club his awesome ability combined with a great knowledge of current short track skating drills and techniques. All this coaching is free with session cost. Our experienced coaches provide group coaching with the groups determined by speed skating ability.   
Speed skates
We have speed skates available, in sizes from small 11 to large 11, for visitors to borrow. New members may use these skates free for one term. After one term, skaters can either hire a pair of skates from us, or purchase their own. Long term hire is available for $65 for 6 months, or $95 for 12 months.  Family discount for skate hire: the 6 month rate of $65 is offered as an annual fee for second immediate family member. Hire fee includes skate sharpening.  Assistance is offered with advice on purchasing your own pair of skates if required.
Skate for social enjoyment and fitness, with the option of participating in club, regional and national / Australian training camps and competitions.  Those who meet the national selection criteria become eligible for selection to represent NZ at international competitions.
Please note:  
All fees are subject to change without notice.  Some coaches may not be available at all sessions.  Coaching is done on a voluntary basis and as such the coach-skater ratio will vary depending on coach availability.
